Baba Kabob in San Diego is an absolute gem for anyone craving delicious and authentic Afghani food. The flavors are rich, the portions generous, and the prices are very reasonable. You can really tell they put care and tradition into every dish. One item you must try is the Potato Bolani – crispy on the outside, perfectly spiced on the inside, and served with tasty chutney. It’s easily one of the best I’ve had anywhere. The kebabs are juicy and tender, the rice is fragrant and fluffy, and the sides are always fresh. Whether you’re dining in or taking out, the experience is consistently great. Plenty of available parking makes it even more convenient, and the staff are warm and welcoming. Highly recommend for a satisfying and authentic Afghani meal. Definitely going back!

I came for the bolani and was not disappointed. The bolani was amazing, highly addictive and was a huge portion, enough for many to share as an appetizer. I never had bolani before, but I am definitely a fan. I also added the beef kabob to my order for some protein and was blown away by how tender and flavorful it was. Truly the best beef kabob I’ve ever had, cooked to perfection. I want to come back and try the other items on the menu!

It had been so long since I’d eaten Persian food, so my friend and I decided to try it out. We ordered a falafel sandwich with fries for my friend (the fries is a bomb), while I had the combo beef and chicken kabob with a yogurt drink. The yogurt drink was an interesting experience, and I’d love for my friends to try it next time. The food was delicious, with generous portions that were perfect for leftovers. The place was nice, the people were friendly, and we had a great dinner overall.

Recently rated as 1 of top 9 restaurants in SD, they are popular for delicious "Bolani" flatbreads w spices & stuffed w potatoes or green onions (chives) w creamy yogurt & a green sauce dip. We also had a plate w kabob of beef & chicken w side salad & rice. The house red chili sauce which you can buy is top notch too.

Got the chicken and lamb combo. I've never tried this type of food before I was staying in a hotel I'm here from out of town. Absolutely love the food it was amazing and then I couldn't resist The Baklava on the way out and I thought I would get a four pack that way I'd have sound as a dessert for other nights well needless to say it didn't make it back to the hotel because it was absolutely amazing. Not sure if it's a family that owns this and works together but that's what it appeared to be a great family-run business that local should support

Been coming here for a few years now and I'm always impressed with both the food and the service. I love their balance of flavors in the typical items, and they have some interesting specials like the bolani and an array of sweets and snacks at the front counter too. Their prices are very fair and the portions are generous too. Also worth noting is the family-run but very professional atmosphere that they foster. Feels like I'm visiting a great friend or family who loves to host whenever I drop by, which is a great sign.

We had an incredible experience enjoying authentic Afghan cuisine at this restaurant. After a long day at Legoland, we came straight here, and the staff was wonderfully accommodating of our family. The food exceeded our expectations! We started with the Bolani and Mantu appetizers, both of which were delicious. For our main courses, we ordered the beef kabob, chicken kabob, chapli, and koobideh—each dish was absolutely fantastic. Highly recommend this spot for a flavorful and satisfying meal!
